世界上，每兩名兒童便有一名在貧困家庭中成長。他們終日挨餓、飲用污水、上學讀書更是難成的夢想。
要改變孩子的生命，便要先改善他們身處社區的環境。故此，宣明會「助養兒童計劃」以兒童為中心、社區為本，致力幫助發展中國家貧困孩子的家庭和社區逐步地解決貧窮問題，為他們建立一個自給自足及可持續發展的社區。
宣明會透過集合助養者的愛心捐助，在孩子的社區推行「區域發展項目」，有效地發展區內不同範疇，使你的助養孩子得到基本成長所需：
清潔用水
- 興建水井、儲水庫或水泵等設施，長遠解決供水問題
- 為村民提供水利系統的管理及維修的培訓
- 協助村民成立委員會，負責水井及水泵的維修工作
- 修建衛生知識 及排污系統，改善社區衛生環境
醫療保健
- 為兒童注射疫苗及進行身體檢查
- 為有需要兒童提供營養食物，增強他們的抵抗力
- 為病患兒童提供醫療資助
- 興建及支援醫療中心，為村民提供醫療服務，並推廣公共衛生知識
教育機會
- 為學童提供書簿、文具、校服及在校的膳食，鼓勵他們上學
- 興建及復修學校，並為學校提供教學設施，提高入學率
- 為校長及教師提供學校管理及教學技巧的培訓
農業發展
- 向農民派發優質的種子及幼苗，以提高農產量
- 培訓農民有關使用肥料、耕種技巧及害蟲管理
- 興建及改善灌溉系統
經濟發展
- 向村民提供小額貸款，讓他們購買種子、牲畜及謀生工具，促進生產力及家庭收入
- 為村民舉辦職業培訓及考察團
- 興建及復修道路及橋樑，改善對外交通網絡
- 協助社區開拓商機，如發展生態旅遊
愛滋病預防及關顧
- 為受影響兒童提供營養食物、醫療服務、教育援助及生活技能培訓
- 成立及培訓社區關顧小組，支援區內受愛滋病影響的家庭
- 向村民傳遞愛滋病的預防知識
- 為醫護人員提供輔導技巧及家居護理的培訓
每日只需捐款港幣$7，即每月港幣$220，你便可成為助養者，改變一名發展中國家孩子的生命，讓助養孩子的家庭及身處社區達致自力更生。
當你成為助養者，你與助養孩子的獨特友誼便會隨即展開。首先你會收到有關助養孩子的基本個人資料，及後還可以透過書信和探訪，向孩子表達愛和關懷。宣明會亦會定期舉辦助養者分享會，讓助養者聚首一堂，分享參與「助養兒童計劃」的喜悅和滿足。

晚餐時,你讓我聽歌,從前沒有聽過啊,但十分歡喜,他令我想到了U2的Bono,歌唱時,他們像是要你給他們什麼似的,或許是一個擁抱,或許是一個親吻,那麼熱切的期許.忘記了你讓我聽那闕歌的名字,在Youtube沒有找到啊,卻發現他重新演繹了Bono的一首歌,我在高中時最愛的,一首關於等待的歌.60天之前,真的沒想到可以這樣子快樂地生活.謝謝你給我說了一個關於天使與湖泊的故事.

不能用智慧理解的事情
Sa問人生在世的意義，又問若祂安排的一切是為自身最好的，為何又要面對長時間的痛苦。問題看來好像挺難解決；我想，多磨鍊、多損傷的身軀，或許為Sa是最好的安排，或許天主在她身上要成就的事，正超越她所理解的。正如祂安排了愛子為那些還沉醉於罪惡中的我們作贖架一樣，我們又怎能以人的智慧去理解呢﹖
我只知道：
祂未曾應許，天常慰藍，
祂未曾應允，花兒常開；
祂卻恩許，祂的慈愛常在…
這是Di給我寫的章節,還記得那天當過義工,跟Di相約到Kong U的星巴克聊天,心情沈重,有太多想不通,十年,好不容易的熬過,開始了新生活,卻遇上阻攔,那天,我是沒法祈禱了,害怕再次被拖拉到黑洞裡,我不要那種生活,可以嗎?我在問.
第二天,與L談了一通電話,已經忘記了內容,好像是一些日常的事情吧,卻讓我感到和平喜悅,我再次感到祂在身旁 (過了很久,我才把這事情告訴L).
今天,我仍然不明白,但沒有疑惑了,正如Di所說,祂在我身上要成就的事,正超越我所能理解的,祈求祂的引路,得以讓我繼續走下去.
Father's Love

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'
The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together.
Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.
For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .
Father and son went on to complete the race together.
Have you ever thought about the relationship between our Holy Father & us? He forgive us, strengthen us whenever we are trapped in the darkness. Let us live in His Love & Grace. Pope John Paul II said, 'See His Greatness, compared to the smallness of the problems.' Thank you Father, thanks for being with me all the time, Luv U...
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him
